Oregon Thespian Board
ADULT BOARD MEMBERS work with the student leadership (STO/JSTO). Oregon Thespians is governed by a Board of 6 adult Board Members, serving two-year terms (three Board Member positions are up for election each year). The Chapter Director serves a four-year term, and is elected in a process facilitated by EdTA. The Chapter Director may serve two consecutive terms.
Board Members attend up to five meetings each year (mileage is paid for those traveling farther than 30 miles one-way to attend), as well as each Thespian Event.
In February, nominations will open for this year’s three open Board positions.

State One Acts
The One-Act Play Marathon includes Chapter Select plays for troupes vying to be selected to represent Oregon at the International Thespian Festival in June, Freestyle plays from troupes presenting everything from staged readings to plays to other talent. Playwriting winners also stage their plays as a part of the One-Act Marathon.
Each troupe forms their team of technicians who participate in a variety of stations challenging their technical skills. Example stations include quick change costume, hang and focus a lighting instrument, legging up a platform, sewing a button, knot tying, and more. This event is hosted on Willamette University's campus.
